It's not only the acceptance of historic vehicles though. They actually
have a pride in their history. They do open days and tram parades at the
slightest excuse. Also, it's not limited to the major cities. I am going
to Hradec Králové (94,000 pop.) in May, and they are celebrating 75 years
of trolleybuses. This active support and encouragement of history is a
complete cultural contrast to Australia where ignorance of history is
treated like a virtue. To the cost of the ever suffering taxpayer.
