I’ve worked in the Airport Line tunnel, and if there’s a track circuit or train stop problem the entire line must be closed to allow the failure to be fixed.

Both directions.

Unlike with the other tunnels there are no refuges for on-track workers to dodge trains between Central and Wolli Creek, where trains are diverted to run via Sydenham when the Airport Line gets closed.
