Re: Tram spotted on L1

Yeah, the Skoda cars are impressive.

The challenge comes convincing the buyer, who might be under pressure to be uh, “economical” inside the political horizon of their overlords, that the extra now is worth the savings later.

The likely situation will come down to the old Ben Franklin aphorism “experience is a tough school, but fools insist on it”. Even then given the proclivity for predictable outcomes to be kicked down the road till they become chronic problems, there’s no certainty the problem will be dealt with rather than perpetuated ad nauseam, as each successive , short term responsibility evader repeats the process of passing it on, like with the Hudson railway tunnels into Penn Station, NYC.

Anyway, you know who to talk to - send an email and order up 80 or so Forcity Smarts on behalf of Stokesey, that should cover things for the time being.

And don't forget an option to cover Parramatta and Newcastle…..

I’m sure both he and Matt Kean will appreciate your “citizen's initiative”.

And like I said before, all those CAFs and X05s will make top artificial fish reefs - fish love that sort of thing.

I imagine Alstom is more strict about the limits within which their trams can be operated, noting the way that they crawl around curves. The operators would therefore not want to invalidate their warranty by "reckless" driving. It's one frustrating reason we can't get faster journey times out of them. A dollar to a dime that the journey time on IWLR will be lengthened after (if) the CAFs are returned to service.
