I was thinking maybe Peckham, but a check against photos revealed major differences. Other options could be Brush, BTH, St Louis or Westinghouse but I have no pictures of them. It could also be a continental truck builder but that would be doubtful for a Sydney car.

Another difference between this car and the rest of the D's besides the arched roof is the second seat ( nearest the saloon). It appears to be fixed to face the one against the driver's bulkhead. The "standard" D's clearly had tip over seat backs for the second seat so it can face either way. I'm not sure about having traction motors as there appears to be daylight showing below the side number. A motor would block any light there. It looks like a Brill 21E to me. Some of the other D's had Peckham trucks. 123 survived as scrubber car 43s until burnt at Randwick Workshops about 1959. I've seen movie footage of it being rolled over to be burnt and it nearly fell to pieces.

It's the unpowered truck that was installed under Sydney D Class car
123, the only arch-roof D car. The location is the Clyde Engineering
erecting yard at Granville.
