So it seems from information subsequently gathered that during this event,
both days, IWLR was being operated with a special express service to ICC in
between each regular service, the event trams being reversed at the Pyrmont
tram depot. The regular services were being run from the first stopping
position at Central and the specials from the second position with plenty
of crowd-management mashalls on the ground. The combined headway would have
been 4 to 5 minutes.

Most significantly, a large fleet of STA buses was also doing supplementary
crowd-lifting a few metres away around the corner at the main Central
Station entrance, to carry what the trams couldn't. This will be a standard
practice at major events, on CSELR too.
