Toilet paper from the NSWR LFX ‘lavatory’ carriages has been used as ‘streamers’ from moving trains.

See attached picture taken from St Marys signal box on the eve of electrification to Penrith.

I was in the city mid morning today and noticed some large white ribbons
wrapped around the overhead in LaTrobe St.

Closer inspection revealed them to be toilet paper - and 1020 was held up.

Driver Brendon Schonfelder (well known to many of us) took the
initiative and coasted through with the pantograph lowered, then raised
it again and was on his way.

The overhead truck was seen a little later heading up Swanston St.

Mal Rowe - a bit puzzled about how the toilet paper got there
