Walked from Town Hall to Circular Quay last night.
Photos were taken with a Google 5x phone and not a 'decent' camera.

They have gotten some APS power rail down near Bond Street. You can
clearly see the tiles that separate the powered segments.
It appears our version of APS is missing the earthed safety guard
segments, as I can only see 2m long power rails and 1m log insulated
sections (the tiles).

On the other APS systems I've looked at closely there is an obvious
short metal segment in the middle of the insulated tiled sections. That
short metal segment is earthed and forms a last ditch defence against a
segment failing to turn off. This appears to be missing on the track so
far done in George Street.

Attached also is a photo I took in Dubai a couple of years back - you
can quite clearly see the metal safety earth segments in the middle of
the ceramic tiled insulating segments. These do not appear in the Sydney
photo.

The track is far from finished, but I would have thought the guard
segments would also be visible, they are not.

Presumably Alstom are now supremely confident that the APS segment
won't fail to turn off - as there is no 'crowbar' projection fitted.
