222 is turning from Carlisle St, northbound into Chapel St. on route 79.
I cannot reliably make out the route and destination of 28; but on Sunday
both route 16 (from Kew) and route 3a (from East Malvern) are routed via St
Kilda to the city (via St Kilda Rd/Swanston St) to Melbourne University, so
I assume that's what it's doing. (On fourth view, the blur in the
destination box of 28 appears to be "3a"). It would not be 5a: a
continuous run from Malvern (Burke Rd terminus of route 5) to Balaclava
Rd/Carlisle St, possible on the original PMTT track layouts, has not been
possible since the Wattletree Rd/Glenferrie Rd intersection was relaid in
concrete in the 1960s, when the PMTT original SW corner curves were removed..
