Noel,

Thanks for the in service photo P 1700. I've just this week been told by
our STM(US) parts manager that the shipment from STM(AU) has arrived, and
1700 will undergo it's needed brake work as soon as shop space allows. I'm
keeping up cautious optimism that it will be back in service this season
(hopefully with some more badly needed paint work, which was partially done
last time it was in the shop).

Attached is the cover of our newsletter from 2010, showing 1700 shouldering
her share and then some at our fall event. We really missed her this year
when crowds arrived.

One of my tram pictures of the early fifties was taken at Sydney's Circular
Quay while the elevated railway was still under construction.

The attached picture shows 'P' 1700 on the Down George Street line at East
Circular Quay.

Within a few years 'P' 1700 was transported to a new home at the S T M.
