Re: Scanning tram photos

Over on Eurotrams the Epsom V700 gets very good feedback. See attached.

It costs about 350 GBP.

I know that is not cheap but it does a very good job.

Subject: [TramsDownUnder] Scanning tram photos

I guess I am not alone in having an extensive collection of tram slides and
photos that haven't seen the light of day for many years and now should be
scanned both for posterity and sharing among the TDU community and other
interested parties.

I have a Canon 3200F scanner, several years old, that has a capacity for
scanning photos, negatives and slides. It's OK for documents but the photos and
slides are only average.

I guess it's time for me to purchase a "suitable" quality scanner to get working
on the collection? What scanners to other enthusiasts use and recommend?

(This reminds me a little of 40 years ago when I was saving my dollars to
purchase my first SLR camera; in those days the standards for the average
enthusiast were either Minolta or Pentax [I chose Minolta] and, if you were a
little more affluent - Nikon!)

No doubt the first part of the project is to get the photos scanned and on to
the computer and then "tweak" them for publication/sharing?
