In Graeme's "One and a half minutes later in the main street of Geelong" the
cars that look like Chevies are Holdens. Holden is a GM subsidiary and built
cars very much like Chevies for many years. Most American petrol-heads would
kill to get a modern Holden which features US V6 and V8 engines but handles
better and has rear wheel drive. I believe they are just putting a two door
coupe version into production. A handmade one did a show circuit in the
States a few years ago and knocked them dead in the aisles.
You might feel culturally deprived if you were a petrol head, Peter.

THe photo of Geelong is great, If you have any more Geelong Photos and
andTrams please either post or send. I know
recently when they re made Mecer Street in Geelong, new medium strip
Loved those late 40s Chevys in those pictures...trees
and what not, they hit metal as they dug,
and ended up pulling up a fair of tram track.
Thanks
