Traversers

Graeme Bennett may remember the Royal Oak traverser? After the trams went,
it remained in use for the bus workshops. But the place was bowled in 1996,
so we got in and dismantled the traverser. An occasion with some great
stories - let trammies loose in an about-to-be-demolished ex-tram workshops
and just see what they find! In this shot Ian Stewart (later seen up on the
roof of the sand tower with bolt cutters taking down lengths of the
overhead!) and David Cawood (earlier seen hooning up and down on the
traverser before we cut the power).
