Yes sorry to be cryptic (among other things!). The Auckland tramway
system closed finally on 29 December 1956 - so this "in memoriam" 40
years later. 248 was of course present on both occasions.

Yes we have used her for rail grinding - she also has a superb DC
MG set
which can be used for welding or brewing the kettle.

301 is at
speed on the 4-foot gauge going down Gr Nth Road. Yours truly is
at the
controls with Paul Dillicar hanging on to the front in case we stop
suddenly and the whole lot falls off! Followed in hot pursuit by the
