Blunt?

That's very matter of fact.

At least the trolley buses can stand being out in the weather better than
trams with wood and canvas roofs (sp?). I guess their weakest spot rust-wise
would be around the windows and perhaps at the base of the trolley poles.

I'm glad you guys have saved some trolley buses.

Is there an earth return wire on the MOTAT overhead so you can operate the
trolley buses?

90% of the Tramway members at MOTAT have an interest in the Trolleybuses
and
in fact it was the Tramway members who preserved the Trolleybuses, but it
comes down to basic maths.

A limited number of people, 30 restoration/maintenance/management
volunteers
and 40 operators who donate their time, about 20'000 hours annually to
Restore, Operate, Interpret and Maintain MOTAT's trams and infrastructure.
It's a labour intensive exercise and we presently have one tram under
overhaul (Melbourne 321), two under restoration (Wellington 47 & Auckland
44), further bogies under overhaul, namely an EMB, a Westinghouse
compressor
being overhauled for the Wellington Tramway Museum, tram, track and
overhead
maintenance to keep a tram service going 365 days of the year, building
extensions and the strategic plan underway. In short we target our limited
resources move projects ahead, rather than spreading ourselves too thin
and
achieve nothing.

That is why it would be ideal to have an independent group to concentrate
efforts on the Trackless Trams, even though everyone has an interest in
Electric Urban Transport.

Sorry to be a blunt bugger.
