I have not been involved for many years, so your information was of
great interest and filled many spaces.
In the days of my pictures, the workers used to enjoy cooling
refreshments in one of the old houses seen on the right of the pic of
301. This was known as "SNIBBO" If I remember correctly.
Woe betide any Wellington visitor who failed to submit the right
entry fee !!!!!

Springs Tramway, a Division of MOTAT for 17 years.line
MOTAT commenced tramway passenger carriage in December 1967 on a
constructed within the museum boundaries of about 400 meters. Theto Great

In 1980 the Western Springs Tramway was extended on a line parallel
North Road only meters from the original Point Chevalier line. In1981 this
was further extended around the corner into Motions Road below theAuckland

Now that MOTAT has regional funding (rating powers) via the MOTAT
Parliament, there is a Strategic Planning process underwayinvolving all
levels of the professional and volunteer museum and stakeholders,including
the territorial councils and visiting public. This also includesthe long
proposed 1 km extension of the WST line from Auckland Zoo to theKeith Park
Memorial Airfield, MOTAT's second site encompassing the aviation,rail
collections and storage. Estimated NZ$1.5 million.the year
MOTAT's tram line is built in max concrete and operates 364 days of
with 5 restored passenger electric trams, 1 ex Sydney Steam Tramand an ex
Wellington Rail Grinder. WST has one full time employee, namely IanRobinson
(famous tram modeller) the week day tram driver.unrestored)
