Hi Bob,
As I trained a large proportion of the staff at the old Sth Melb depot
the LRt lines, I'm right across them. I recall, whilst training, they
were
putting in the "round-about' (now gone) at Grey and Fitzroy street, they
had
to cut back into the road way infront of the old station and put in a
curb,
during excavation, they exposed the VR 5'3" tram track (I actually think
it
is still under Grey street) and cut 4 lengths about 6ft in length, I
stopped
the tram over the top of it all and asked what they were going to do
them, to cut this short, they are now, 4'81/2" apart under my 10ft of W5

in my back yard!!!
