Maybe this getting a little off topic - but what was running through
my mind is that if you put in a right-turn arrow, that means a right-
turn lane - which would be either in one of the existing "through"
lanes (and there may be only one of those now - can't remember?) or
on the tram track. In first case you hold up through motor vehicles,
and in the other the trams?
The other (better?)option is to formalise the hook-turn layout with
white lines and put in a delayed turning signal (right turn from left
lane).

But then a right-turn arrow would delay the trams? Since a tram
carries more people than a car, it should (continue to) be the
motorist who pays the penalty. The hook turn is one of those
lovely
local customs that I would NOT like to see scrapped. If you can't
hack it, don't drive your car there!

I can hack it Bruce. I'm talking from a tram drivers' point of
view.

Right arrows should be introduced at all places where cars turn
over tram
tracks. It's a safety issue. That way people can't drive in front
of a
tram, etc.
