"Monday 10th September 2001 witnessed the loading of Sydney Tramway Museum
(ex-Milan Peter Witt tram) #1692 for a new life in Australia. The photographs
below illustrate loading at the Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, factory at Lecco,
Italy. The tram left Italy via the port of La Spezia aboard the PONL Salerno
and is due to arrive in Melbourne on 6th October. Once the tram has been
landed at Melbourne, it will be transported to Bendigo where restoration will
take place. Details regarding the restoration progress of this tram will be
posted as they come to hand."
