Does anyone know where the track welding teams have gone?
I have seen no evidence of track repairs for the last four weeks.
The broken joints just get worse and worse.
Also - let us hope that whoever the new management are - they start a
regular programme for cleaning points. Since I have been at Malvern
there are some points that have not been cleaned. Obviously trailing
points do not count as they are very rarely cleaned and many a point
blade has become bent from the years of silt. Just look at the north
end of Hawthorn Road and at Balaclava Junction to see what I mean.
The southern crossover in Burke Road at Camberwell Junction have
never been cleaned to my knowledge (since March 1999). The points in
Glenferrie Road at Riversdale Road have only been cleaned once,
earlier this year for a pre-arranged rostered tram movement.
As far as track maintenance and repairs are concerned National
Express have a very poor record in my book.
Regards and (hopefully) a Happy New Year to all. Geoff.Geoff,
I berlieve thiess did all the maintenance work for M tram.I agree with you that National Express let the system run down.Let us hope that the damage is repaired.
