Dear Andy, Jeff ... and listening 'lurkers',

For many years I was heavily involved in the work of the TMSV.
Other issues (three of them - two boys and a girl) meant that my
contribution dropped off.

With the benefit of hindsight I can recognise the enormous
contribution made by so many. I am often really grateful for the
great wealth of data collected by people like Jeff - whom I only
recently met agian in Bendigo for the Bendigo Trust anniversary.

I am also very glad that others like Andy have picked up where I
left off and have done so much at places like Bylands.

Yes, there will also be great debate over what to keep and what to
let go - I have confessed before to being part of the team that
scrapped Birney 218 and trust that the group will not lynch me when
we meet in real life!!

Overall, I am very glad of the strength of debate that goes on over
preservation issues - it is a pity when it gets personal, but that's
part of human nature.

Let's all value one anothers' opinions and celebrate the freedom we
have to express them. Let's also be prepared to put in the effort
and finances as possible to ensure that our transport heritage is
preserved.

Thanks Andy for your regular updates on what's happening now - and
thanks Jeff for sharing your wealth of accumulated knowledge.
