Just to clarify for the records my earlier message:

The North Richmond terminus is still only single track but there are
now two curves leading into Victoria St, one connecting to the up
track and one to the down.

Before October 1961,there used to be a facing xover at

Victoria and Church St Abbotsford. This enabled trams to run fr,om Kew Depot straight to Olympic Park, via

Church and Swan St Richmond.Nth Richmond terminus contained a trailing xover and a dead end siding on the east track.

The layout was altered in October 1961,but the curve did not come into full time use unti 14-2-65 when

Hawthorn Depot was closed, and Kew Depot ran route 78,79.

Prior to the present layout being commissioned in June 1987,the police banned the use of wrong way running into Church St  so the trams from Kew Depot had to go via Route 48 to River St,75 to Hawthorn Depot,70 to

Olympic Park reverse then back to Church St.
