Climate control in trams

Gentlemen,
Last Saturday I caught the 1750 inbound from Mont Albert which was handled
by C.3022. The temperature was around 32c outside and the airconditiong
appeared to be working very hard to keep the interior cool.
I spoke to a driver on the 112 a couple of weeks ago and he preferred to
keep one set of doors open rather than on both sides at the terminus at St
Kilda to keep the temperature down.
Once the doors closed and the tram departed the temperature was reasonably
pleasant inside. However with the large windows and lack of blinds (except
in the driving cabins) the airconditiong would be hard pressed to cope with
high temps and many hot and bothered people.
Has YT considered fitting internal blinds similiar to the refurbished B2s to
help keep the sun out and the temperature down?
At Glenferrie Road I changed to a St Kilda Bch service which was run by
Z1.75. By this time the temperature had dropped slightly and there was a
breeze. The condition inside the tram wasn't too bad - I guess with the
windows open and the internal fans blowing made the difference.
Cheers and merry Christmas to all!
