I was reading some old Trolley Wires from 1971 and am curious as to what happened to Tram 36. It was purchased from the SEC by the Hawthorn City Council in 1971 (I think it was this Council, but it could have been another of the HTT members) and operated in Melbourne in late 1971 advertising Ballarat. TW reported that the tram was to be repainted into its former HTT livery and number.

The car is at Bylands Tramway Museum ,and is operable.
