I agree with your sentiments re the modifications to W's thus removing
their charm. But I feel that a W class with a panto on the streets of
Melbourne in 2002 is better than the collection sitting at Newport or
Preston gathering dust. You can always restore the pole but you can't
restore the tram if it is no more.

I believe it is proposed that ALL W's will go panto.
A decision I am not happy with.
