* At or around 17.00 an unknown tram broke down on St Kilda Rd near Southbank Blvd.  Delays were reasonable, by 17.10 up trams were instructed to divert via Park St.  The tram was moved soon after, however many trams were short shunted.

* During the course of the afternoon an unknown tram broke down on Chapel St causing major delays to other trams and traffic, police eventually blocked access to cars at Commercial Rd (in which direction?).

* Not long after, an wayside accident at the corner of Alexandra Pde and Church St caused delays to services, one tram driver assisted police by using a point bar to wedge a panel out from behind a tyre on one of the damaged cars.

* Z3.139 was transferred from GH to Southbank depot, for an unknown reason.  Leaving GH at about 18.10, It travelled via Glenhuntly Rd, Brighton Rd, St Kilda Rd, Kings Way, William St, Bourke St, Spencer St to SB depot, and was stabled on 7 road there.

* Z3.118 was transferred by the same driver from Southbank to GH depot.  Leaving there just after 20.00, due to a delay (see next point) it travelled via Rt 112 to Fitzroy St, then shunting to travel to GH via Luna Park and Carlisle St.  The tram had a door fault, one of the bolts which sits in the running slot was missing and as such one flap was loose.  Photo at http://spatula-city.net/digital/2002-12-17/DSC01241.JPG

* By 20.10 B1.2002 had broken down outside of the casino while heading towards SB depot, it was showing "Museum 01".  R10 was despatched to push it, but it was eventually able to be moved under its own power to SB.  In order, B2.2121, C3036, B2.2041, C3017 and C3024 were stuck behind it for a short period of time.
