My DNS server is playing up, so this may come
through rather late - if at all :D
* Soon after 11am, Z1.5 failed in the city at
Franklin St on the up with disc brakes locked on. Mechanics were called,
and had not-fun getting it back to Glenhuntly. By 12.40, the tram failed
again on the down side of the intersectin of Brighton Rd & Carlisle St; a
large pool of hydraulic fluid had formed under the tram. Z3.122 was a
service car behind, it was removed from service and used to push Z1.5 with a bar
back to the depot. Mechanics had managed to put MASSIVE flats on the tram,
a number of residents and shopkeepers in Glenhuntly Rd rushed outside to see
what was making such a noise. (I have video & photos of it all, will upload
it when I can). The tram was `dumped' on 7 road at Glenhuntly for
attention, it was still there at midnight tonight.
* At around the same time the driver of Z1.25
reported a severe loss of brakes somewhere near Camberwell terminus. As
all available Bombardier units were tied up with Z1.5, a mobile officer attended
and decided to remove the tram from service, it ran Special to Malvern for later
repair.
* Z3.224 was at Glenhuntly by 11.00, but was later
seen in service on Malvern routes. It was possibly there for servicing, a
number of Malvern trams have been to Glenhuntly in the past few weeks for that
purpose.
