I can understand the reasons why too. It might be because the company
that is in charge of the transfer, doesn't want to create a circus of
people standing around to watch it. It could cause a public liability
hassle for them. Or in this day and age of 99% of the population
living in fear of a terrorist attack, that someone could try
something.
If it was found out who had leaked the information, by the employer,
they could loose their job. So it is understandable that the
information was not made public.
