Personally I think all city destinations should show the main

Excellent suggestion, something that I have been saying for years
and
years.

David.

Remember a few years ago when they reprogrammed the dot matrix
displays on the Bs, and all trams down Elizabeth St could only
show "City - Elizabeth St"? Of course this totally conflicted with
the established meaning of this, i.e. that the tram was terminating
AT Elizabeth St, not running DOWN Elizabeth St. I wrote a letter,
and I don't know if I had any influence, but within months they got
reprogrammed to show "City via Elizabeth St", which they still show.

Now the question is why Elizabeth St trams seem to be the only ones
that use this "via" terminology on a regular basis. (My guess is its
for the few stops in Flemington Rd where you can get a tram either
via Elizabeth or William Sts)

And, if these dot-matrix things are so easily reprogrammable, why
have they still not corrected the incorrect spelling of Prahran
(they spell it Prahan) on the side desto's of the Zs? (Interestingly
the main desto is OK)
