theThe only other explanation is that they are planning ahead for
Spencer St station redevelopment with the possibility of anentrance
off the bridge, much like Wilco suggested. I doubt it though, the
bridge is probably too high and in the middle of nowhere for an
entrance there to be financially viable.
The stop in the middle of the bridge is designed for the Spark
services from Spencer Street.
When the station is redeveloped, non suburban services will be
accessed from ground level. The Sparks will be via a floating level,
that is at the height of the bridge stop. The floating level will
include a bar and a "chill-out" area, with big windows to view the
trains from. THis will also be used as the main level for the
supermarket and the hotel entrances.
This way mugs will be able to walk from Telstra Doomed, to their
trains, and only have to go down one set of stairs. It should be
easier for them if they are half tanked.
