International Tram Driving Experience (was Tram News & Other Sightings 30.10)

I was thinking more of Melbourne tram drivers whose experience has
extended beyond our shores.
We are honoured to have the World's Greatest International Tram
Driver (with international referring to driver rather than tram)
resident in Melbourne.
Also our very own "Citadis" contributor seems to be able to give the
World's Greatest International Tram Driver a bit of a run for his
money.
And I believe at least one other valued TDU contributor also has
international tram driving experience gained during the course of
official duties.
Wonder if any Melbourne drivers were sent overseas when the Zs were
being designed in the early 1970s? And what about Adelaide or Geelong
drivers going to the USA before the Birneys were purchased in the
1920s?

Depends, who is the worlds greatest international tram driver?

For an international tram driver you need an international tram.
The only one
of those in recent decades that I can think of (unless Saarbrücken -

Sarreguemines is now in operation) would be El Paso - Juarez, and
before that,
Geneva - Annemasse. Y'all come by, y'hear!
