* By today, both Z3.154 and Z3.155 had entered
service from GH. Z3.154 had some minor battery problems, however the tram
remained in service and would be looked at by mechanics after it ran in to the
depot in the evening.
* As mentioned elsewhere, B2.2096 derailed at
Melbourne University. The driver allegedly was not clear of the spring
loaded points, and derailed. The tram also suffered a damaged pantograph
and reportedly did damage to the overhead, which was switched off at one
stage. A number of trams (at least 12) banged back to LaTrobe St to
crossover. Initially trams were prohibited from using 1 shunt.
2 & 3 shunt can accommodate a Z and a B, assuming the wheels of the tram in
3 shunt are at the very end of the track.
* At about 14.00, an all trams broadcast was heard
from M>Tram FOC advising a passenger on board Z2.106 to remove his feet from
the validator or police would meet the tram to have him arrested.
* Although officially decomissioned, Z1.11 was in
service today, probably because of ongoing rollingstock shortages at
GH.
* By today, 2 W's were on 4 road in GH for brake
modifications; it is unclear whether all the work would be done there or if this
was just preliminary work.
