Ballarat, 1962: SEC dual-bogie 36 on Lydiard Street northbound at Howitt Street
crossing loop (I think!!. And, despite the sign, heading away from Sebastopol -
at least that's the way I remember it. On the other hand, the shadow looks as
if the sun might be slightly to our right. The picture was taken late in the
morning, probably in February. Corrections welcomed.)

This car was ex-MMTB 132, built in 1917 by Duncan & Fraser for the Hawthorn
Tramways Trust, and has been preserved.

Nothing against the loverly liveries on display at Bendigo. But it's hard to
imagine anything handsomer than the dark green and cream of these cars
immaculately maintained in in their last years of regular service. Even the
high-visibility striping can't destroy their appearance.
