I am sure the date was 22 October 1960. It was a Saturday the same
day as the last cars to Botany and Coogee in Sydney. Also the end of
trams in Hobart. But I think the last car in Hobart ran on the Friday
with a special final run on the Monday.
The AETA ran a special tour to Point Ormond in Y 469 on the last day.
It was my first tram tour on my own. But I had been on the AETA tour
over the VR electric street railway in May 1956 with my mother and
sister.
Paul in Melbourne.
