Surely Keith Kings would have taken some photos at that location.And
no doubt the late John Alfred.he
There is a classic photo of a VR car (with destination set for the
return journey!) crossing the Point Ormond line in 1951 in a recent
issue of Trolley Wire. The photo was taken by Noel Reed so perhaps
may have walked further up the line on that day taking photos alonginteresting
the way.
Melbourne on a public holiday in 1951 would have been an

I have photos taken at that corner in 1955.Ihave also seen John
prints but his untimely death in Jan 1969 put an end to buying photos.
I have over 100 John Alfred photos in my collection.Iwould like toput out a book featuring them.
Finally there must be a newspaper photo at this corner as it is50years,since W2 275 was hit by no 28.No 20 had to come from Elwood
depot to assist in the clean up.275 was rebuilt as an SW2 re entering
service in 1955.

Actually, there are a couple of shots of trams, genuine, in
(thestreet, There is a cafe in the shoping centre behind Puckle St
Mooneemall on the northern side) that has such photos on the wall, thewasanother similar shop opposite with other scenes but this one is
closed for remodelling, they are amongst other phots of the
thePonds area and a couple actually show trams in Puckle street andthejunction quite clearly.
Whilst on the subject of unknown photos, has anyone thought of
VRfact that no shot has ever (to my knowledge anyway) be shown of
Pttrams crossing Carlisle st St. Kilda I have several movies (Jim
Seletto films) and have seen numerous shots of cars crossing the
inOrmond line and the 16 in front of the station but never atCarlislest and what a shot it could have been, with that picture theater
the back ground!
