We must remember that tramway historians tend to be a very
conversative bunch of people and err on the side of caution rather
than adventure.
But I am satisfied Mal's photo was genuine.
There was an article written by someone called Thomas back in the
1940s that apparently hoaxed the tramway enthusiast community.
The article featured histories of two non-existent tram systems in
New South Wales and, I understand, was published initially in the
ARHS Bulletin (during the 1940s) and later (in the 1960s) in Electic
traction.
Does anyone know more about this rather bizarre episode of Australian
tramway history?

This noted tramway historian must be wearing "ROSE TINTED
he has seen a photo of a V class in Puckle St taken near therailway
station.I believe the line was only used when races were at Moonee
Valley Racecourse.If the line was abandoned in 1925.there is a
possibility that the following class of tram may have used the
line.M.Q.R.S.U.V.& W.These classes were at Essendon Depot in 1924.I
