Can someone explain the tram numbering system? I always thought that these trams had three digit numbers. Was tram 01 of a similar type to this one?

Hi WGB,

I know you (like the rest of us) are sad at the rail tragedy so here's a little something to cheer you up, remember this fan trip of many moons ago, poor old 52 ran it's last mile only the week after this trip, I just dug out all the shots from that great day all thos years ago, the uniform worn by the fearless motorman dates the vintage. Still one of my all time favourite cars (well, Melbourne anyway).
