New Plymouth, Spring of 1961: Crossley No.1 waits at the city terminus in
Liardet Street, with St. Andrew's church across Courtenay Street in the
background. No.1 has turned left from the inbound wire in Courtenay St. and on
departure will turn west into Devon Street at the next corner and proceed
towards Westown. We also see the overhead turning from Courtenay Street south
to the then depot at the Municipal complex beyond Leach Street, and the wire
returning up Liardet Street from the depot.

Of New Plymouth's four trolleys, two are preserved. This one is inactive at
Paekakariki; its sister No.3 is in operating condition at Ferrymead and
participated in Wellingtons 50th anniversary celebrations in 1999.
