The third in a series of scans from the picture booklet "Views of Wellington,
the Capital City of New Zealand" published by Whitcombe and Tombs Ltd, probably
in the late 1930s.
"Looking up Taranaki Street to the Dominion Museum and National Art Gallery,
and the Technical College"
The same intersection as in the "Courtenay Place" picture. Where that faced
west, this faces south.
The second-generation Double Saloon tram is crossing from Manners Street into
Courtenay Place. Barely visible to the left is a car heading in the opposite
direction, in exactly the same position and of the same type as the one in the
earlier picture.
In the distance, Wellington's landmark carillon pierces the skyline in front of
the museum.
