The route numberings furnished to Graeme Bennett by Ronald Scholten include
examples older than those listed below, evidenced by the following:
- Inclusion of Elsternwick - Point Ormond services
- Omission of Bourke Street services
- East Preston services shown via St. George's Road
Below is the situation in the early 1960s, as shown in MMTB timetable folders
that I collected in 1961 and 1962 (no dates shown). Except for the changes
noted above, mostly correspond to route listings of a decade earlier. In many
cases they are unchanged to this day.
The listings are grouped according to city routing (where applicable) and
generally speaking are ordered clockwise from west to southwest.
