Maybe I made a bit of an assumption, considering that it's not a guided
busway. I have read about the failure of guided busways in Europe,
which although appear to be cheap to start with, have ended up costing
more than light rail. They have even gone to the lengths to make the
vehicles look like light rail vehicles to change the public perception.

I always would have assumed that the cost of laying track and the space
that needed to be available for light rail would be less. A manual bus
system would require a wider road to acheive speeds simular to light
rail, due to the fact that a bus driver won't be able to keep a bus 100%
on course.
