Hi Jef - Cheers for the update. Also Thanks Graeme for the offer of scanning
assistance.
Really appreciate you hunting the pic out of 321 and having the records to
know that you had taken it. According to the M&MTB service records 321 was
transferred from Malvern Depot to Preston for truck work, then storage 25
May 1981, so good guess. She left Preston for Auckland in 1982 - I'd have to
hunt out the dates though.
I am pleased to report that once 321 has bod catchers fitted this weekend,
she is serviceable. Though we'll wait until the re-launch before we carry
passengers. In the meantime there will be a period of wearing in and testing
by the Workshop staff!!! We'll announce the re-launch details shortly.
Of interest to Graeme is we're doing a tidy up and repaint on Auckland
number 11. Further research has indicated some minor additions to the car
are required which we'll undertake prior to November, which will remain in
1912 condition. So she'll look great for the Centenary. Also we're intending
on re-canvassing and re-wiring her next year. Wellington Double Decker 47's
cab floors are currently being re-timbered and our workforce are making
excellent progress.
Anyway kind regards to all subscribers of TramsDowunder
Cheers
