Re: Coupled set of Zs?

During my time at Camberwell (1974-1976) "block" cars were banned by
the union. But they were allowed to operate at other depots. North
Coburg was a terminus that often had a "block" car at that time.
The subject of the variations of union policies between the depots
would make an interesting study; what was banned at one depot was
acceptable at another.

Interestring that 42 was operating with a trolley pole. The
pantograph (at the front of the car) was down, possibly damaged.
Z 3 is one of the three cars rumoured to have been sold for scrap
recently. Its pantograph was down.
I suspect 42 was towing 3 to Preston Workshops.
A very interesting lunch time observation.
