Mont Albert terminus

Yesterday (Friday 16 August) I had a look at the work on the new
extension and the new arrangements at the Mont Albert terminus.
The new crossover and extension across Union Road are laid in
traditional concrete. The surfaces changes from concrete to the
bitumen surface about 15 metres east of Union Road.
The old overhead is still up over the former terminus. There is a
sign on the span wire, about 10 metres east of Scheele Street:
"TRAMS DO NOT ENTER POWER OFF".
The new crossover is west of Clapham Street. The double yellow line
is about 1/3 across the intersection of Whitehorse Road and Clapham
Street.
I noticed the drivers (of the A class cars I spotted) were opening
the front door (down/north side) of the tram and "escorting"
passengers to the footpath. The "temporary" terminus with reasonably
heavy road traffic along Whitehorse Road would appear to be fairly
dangerous.
The timetable display at Clapham Street had not been amended to
reflect the new arrangements.
The overhead is still up at the former Balwyn crossover (route 44).
