The Federation Line will have two restored tramcars on display at the
Australian War Memorial from 13 to 23 September inclusive - Melbourne 249
(in Canberra "Federal Capital Commission" livery) and Sydney 2001 (in RAAF
livery). The exhibit will be launched at 10 am on Thursday 13 September by
the Chief Minister, Gary Humphries, who will drive 2001 along its short
track.

The trams will be "live" - that is, they will have an electricity feed to
run the lights, compressors and so on - but for insurance reasons we won't
be offering "rides" to the public. On some days a professional driver will
move 2001 along its track as a demonstration but won't be carrying public
passengers.

The exhibition will be open from 9 am to 5 pm daily and explanatory
leaflets
will be available.
