Hi, gang!
I got this from another group. Basically, this means more work for you to
make sure you get your messages on a timely basis.

ADMINISTRATIVE NOTICE: Re: Members whose ISP may be bouncing messages..
All:
The below excerpt of a message was posted in a List Owner and Moderators
Yahoogroups list..
In short, if you should suddenly stop receiving list mail from any
Yahoogroup, the list owner or moderator can not reinstate you..
Evidently Yahoo has been experiencing many bounced messages and changed
their bounced message policy..
For those who need a definition: Bouncing is what happens when your
mailbox is full to overflowing & your ISP refuses to accept any further
e-mail (Until you read or retrieve & remove the back log of mail.), in
which case they send the originating ISP a bounce notice (Similar to what
happens if you should bounce a check in your bank checking account.)..
Bounced messages may also happen if your ISP has had some kind of server
glitch.. In the past, Yahoogroups has had settings that could be re-set by
either the List Owner, or a moderator..
NOW, any re-set provisions are non-functional..
To help prevent bounced messages if you are going on a vacation, or will be
away from your computer for an extended period of time, you may want to
un-subscribe from yahoogroups, or change your status to "nomail/web only"
service in which you remain subscribed, but read your mail from the
appropriate Yahoogroup web page..
To unsubscribe: send a blank (NO subject or message) e-mail addressed:
[list name][email protected]
To change to "no mail/web only service, send a blank (NO subject or
message) e-mail addressed:
[list name][email protected]
Thank you,

Yahoogroups has made some changes in the bouncing system and I know
that many will grip and groan and we shall debate this for days :-) but I
like
it, I think it works very well, getting the job done of determining if the
bouncing
person is actually receiving mail or not and relieving the list owner of
having
to send private mail probes.
The key is that no-one, not a list owner or a list member can un bounce
themselves if they aren't receiving mail. And that's the whole point, if
someone isn't getting mail, they shouldn't be un bounced. So the
system is finally working more like it should.
