On the topic of priority, what were the results of the dynamic lane marking trials down Toorak Road on the No.8?

Can't remember where I read it (think it may have been the age online) but it is a failure. At the time there were a number of posts on one of the groups I subscribe to claiming that many of the lights were missing, and drivers were ignoring the lights lighting up anyway.

As with our clearways, unless the system is enforced with fines (which neither fairways or clearways seem to be) or some such, people will eventually work out he signs aren't worth anything and ignore them.

You don't need fancy systems to tell people trams are coming and they aren't meant to be there. If the system is enforced enough, people will soon learn what the mirror in the middle of the windscreen is for!
