Yes No.1 (or whatever it is?) was at the Powerhouse when I first saw
it about 8 years ago but is now at their store at Castle Hill.
Several days before arriving in Sydney for the SPER do in March I
enquired about access to it to get some photos of door fittings .
Apparently it takes three days to open ones e-mail there so it was in
their too-hard basket. This was explained very politely by a very
nice lady in a very expensive suit however so that made me feel
better.
About 103A: it did seem that wood and brass stood up a bit
disappointingly to temperatures exceeding 1400 deg C on that
occasion. And a few bits of steel were just a little bent. But no it
wasn't destroyed totally totally. Just a bit buggered.

About that steam tram....
I think someone has their wires crossed here..
I have only just caught up with this post.
Steam tram 103A ALMOST destroyed in the fire at Parematta Park.
It has been rebuilt and is now at Valley Heights ( on the line from
Sydney to Lithgow.) The Steam tram boys ended up there,...A very
political story, that one.
There was a also a replica infernal combustion engined steam motor
Parematta, This may well have been destroyed.my
I saw Baldwin No1 some years ago at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney
in excellent condition. Whilst in Sydney for the games I visited
there again but the tram had moved somewhere.....any news on it ???
I will post some pics of all of the above when I can find them in
filing system .......if the cat hasn't eaten them.--
