Thanks Jack,

I meant to ad my humble opinion of the old Engine house at the corner
of Gertrude st as well, as a static museum it would be good for about
8-10 cars arranged to be viewed properly, it could NEVER be connected
to the system, a huge door would have to bee knocked into the eastern
end as the current door is to small and in the wrong place, you would
not be able to get more than one or two raods into the building and
that would limit you to a maximum of about 4 cars. The traffic in
Gertrude St (not to mention Nicholson St) is bad anytime of the day,
especially when there is something on at the exhibition. and there is
a 7 minute service along there during the day, it would be a
nightmare trying to get a tram out.

If anyone thinks my idea about the old Preston depot is a goer, you
need to contact your local member of parliament as I don't think it
is being considered and I do believ it is the only real alternattive
if you want the cars to run, trouble is, the people who are pushing
the other places, no nothing of tram restoration or operation, the
proof is the fact they ARE pushing these places!!

Cheers
Greg
