With that dual gauge track it can only be the Western Springs
Tramway - between MOTAT (Mus of Transp & Techn) and the Auckland Zoo
(1.2km).

That "contraption" is ex-Sydney ex-Wanganui No.100 currently the only
Baldwin tram-motor in operating condition - of about 500 to similar
design built for various systems worldwide I understand. It has a
long and gloriously unlikely history - since it was delivered to
Sydney in 1891 along with 15 others - including its poor old sister
103A, which was consumed as a result of arson at Parramatta Pk a few
years back. But it is slowly coming back to life following much
rebuilding and hard work by the guys in Sydney. 100 is largely
original having escaped the numerous rebuilds and modifications of
the rest of the Sydney fleet.

Also in existence in the Powerhouse collection, Sydney is Sydney No.1
(it is claimed)- but some say there is more of No.28 in this beast
than No.1.

I am sure Peter intended this group for ELECTRIC beasties, so further
debate on Aussie phonies of the steam type may not be in order?

Very bizarre, B. R. But what is that contraption on the right?
