From Monday last 29/4/02 Tramways avenue will be unavailable
for Tram traffic due to road works and track replacement from the junction
points to the depot.
The points have been spiked for the straight, and cars will
operate from the Gas Works temporary depot for two weeks.
To
acheive room ffor operating cars at the gas works it was neccessary to
transfer cars no's 2, ( which went into the gas works in 1979), 138, 23 ,
and Birneycar 28. from there the depot and Car no 122 Motorman Lamb
passed into the depot at 17:40 and was the last car to pass over this section of
track on rail which dates from 1903. from information supplied by the
margaret st marauder.
